Ahwal means “language” in the native language of Tashelheit. The language of the Amazigh people is one of the oldest in the world, and its many dialects can be heard throughout Morocco and its sister nations in North Africa. The oral transmission of this language from generation to generation over thousands of years has helped preserve the history and strong cultural identity of the Amazigh people in North Africa. This carpet was hand woven and crafted in the town of Agdz, Morocco, by Naima and Fatima.
