Tasleet means “bride” in the native language of Tashelheit. Moroccan weddings are multi-day events that include hundreds of participants and boisterous celebrations that last long into the night. Brides are traditionally kept separate from their husbands, and are surrounded only by women until the time comes for the bride and groom to consummate their marriage. This carpet was hand woven and crafted in the town of Agdz, Morocco, by Naima and Fatima.
